We have staff-nominated charity partnerships in place across all of our sites that run for a two-year period.
Our current charity partnerships include Mind, Alzheimer's Scotland and Longfield Hospice. We hope to raise money for these charities through events and activities ranging from raffles, memory walks, coffee mornings and bake-offs over the next two years.
As part of our broader community engagement programme we also routinely donate soft drinks to local events and initiatives.
In addition, we work closely with our industry charity GroceryAid.
Which helps people in need right across the sector, from staff in major production facilities through the supply chain down to the smallest shop. We’re involved in numerous ways, including key committees, awareness-raising events and sponsorships.
We are delighted once again to receive a GroceryAid Gold Award in recognition of our support for our industry’s charity for the 12th year running. GoceryAid has helped over 17,000 grocery colleagues over the past year, their support in 2020 was invaluable to our grocery industry.
We encourage everyone to volunteer their time or skills within their own communities during the year.
For example with a charity, project, animal shelter or local initiative. You choose the cause that’s close to your heart and we will support it.
We are also involved in the annual Group-wide Give & Gain week, when all Divisions take time out to volunteer within their local communities during the month of May.
